Deep in the labyrinth, past the last torch, the Minotaur is waiting β and he is bored. Mythical Dice, designed by Manfred Reindl and published by IELLO, imagines how the beast passes the time: dice, again and again, with three to six players brave enough to pull up a chair. It is trick-taking with dice instead of cards. Each round you draw a growing handful from the bag and hide it behind your screen, then the whole table shouts βMIN-O-TAUR!β and throws out fingers to bid how many tricks they’ll take. Then you roll, one die at a time, following colour when you can. High numbers win β unless a Minotaur, Griffin or Mermaid turns up, each beating one rival and falling to another. Hit your bid exactly, or pay for it.
πΆ The Soundtrack β Echoes from the Labyrinth
Two long-form tracks, close to fifty minutes in all, set the table somewhere between a torchlit temple and a sea grotto β ancient, a little mischievous, and full of maze-like tension. Dice rattle in the shadows, and the stakes climb with every hand.
- At the Minotaur’s Table β The hall opens and the dice come out of the bag. An ancient, mythic ambience hangs over the table, playful on the surface and quietly suspenseful underneath β the mood of a game among old rivals who would all very much like to win. Light enough for laughter, uneasy enough that nobody quite trusts a smile.
- Last Call in the Labyrinth β The torches burn low. A darker mythic tavern ambience closes in, dice rattling through the gloom and a tension that never quite breaks. This is the sound of the late rounds, when hands are full, bids are bold and a single roll can sink you.

π¨ The Art β Dice That Burn Like Lanterns
The AI-generated artwork gathers its players around a round bronze table carved with dense filigree, where the dice glow from within β amber and gold, sapphire, teal and violet, each face etched with bulls, griffins and winged beasts β among scattered coins in matching colours. A nose-ringed minotaur leans in with a die in his fist, a scale-dappled mermaid in a crown of shells watches with her chin in her hand, an armoured griffin bares its beak, and a bearded sea-king with a trident presides over the throw. The settings shift from a glowing blue labyrinth corridor to an undersea grotto with a seahorse and an octopus at the table, and out to a cliffside temple among waterfalls and mountain peaks. Warm torchlight fights cold, watery blue in every frame, and the detail is rich enough to feel the weight of the gold.
